Mother’s Day

TCCP sees Mother’s Day as a chance for meaningful gatherings where people can discuss contemporary issues on parenthood. In our May 2008 panel at Carnegie Mellon University, we set our theme as “Mother’s Role in the Spiritual Development of an Individual” and invited three mothers from Abrahamic traditions, include Dr. Martha Robbins, Joan Marshall Associate Professor of Pastoral Care at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary; Rabbi Barbara Symons, Temple David; and Dr. Sebnem Unlu, of cancer research at UPMC. In their talks, each presenter brought her own story embodying her own faith blended with diverse life journey.
