Dialogue Community
Today we live in a world where natural and human-made disasters, famine, epidemics, poverty, social unrest, wars, terrorism, religious intolerance and ecological dangers threaten the quality of our life and our very existence. This world belongs to all of us and creating awareness for social change is our utmost responsibility. To achieve this we need to use our available resources and institutions, and work hard to spread out peace, tolerance and dialogue. TCCP is dedicated to building a platform where people of different faiths and cultures can come together, appreciating their differences and similarities in a friendly environment.
Dinners |
| TCCP hosts annual Iftar dinners for scholars representing different faith groups in Pittsburgh. The goal of these Iftars is to bring religious leaders and scholars together, to initiate friendships and reach a larger audience through community leaders in our other dialogue activities. | ||
Dialogue Trips |
| TCCP organizes interfaith and intercultural group trips to Turkey. Groups of five to ten people enjoy a journey to various cultural, historical and religious sites of different cities, which reflect the cultural diversity of the civilizations that once lived in Anatolia. | ||
Noah’s Pudding Days |
| Every year TCCP volunteers prepare a dessert called Noah’s Pudding to observe a Middle Eastern tradition celebrating the landing of Noah’s Ark after the Great Flood, which has references in the Holy Books of Judaism, Christianity and Islam. | ||
Community Services |
| Every year in Eid al-Adha (The Holy Muslim Festival of Sacrificing), we donate meats from the sacrifice to those in need, in collaboration with the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank. | ||
Dialogue Awards |
| TCCP gives Annual Dialogue Awards to recognize individuals and organizations in tye Greater Pittsburgh Area who have made significant contributions to interfaith and intercultural dialogue, and who devoted themselves to promoting mutual understanding and peace. | ||
Seminars & Panels |
| TCCP organizes seminars and panels to cultivate awareness in individual and social issues emerging from the contemporary phenomena. We hope to have an impact on social change through understanding and action. | ||
